Petition Action

Deceiving the electorate during political campaign should be an offense.

Petition Details

The people who do this should face punishment for their actions and words. They are using their position and influence to deceive the electorate, who they should be representing.

Additional Information

During the EU referendum debate we have seen influential and well known politicians make promises, claims and state ‘facts’ aiding their cause that are either simply untrue or completely misleading.

This petition does not believe it is just the EU referendum but recent General elections, and Mayoral elections.

The electorate cannot be asked to make sensible, informed decisions about political options when being fed untruths by those in greater authority.

There needs to be accountability.
