Stop Designated Rural Areas Order 1997. Unfair on rural tennant right to buy
I was brought up in West Somerset and moved back to my home village to be near my family again. I look after my flat as if it was my own and made improvements. At best, a town property that Magna wanted to sell could be an alternative-likely to be in disrepair from irresponsible previous tenants.
I am aware that the present government are piloting schemes for housing association tenants’ previously not council tenants in parts of London and Liverpool to have The Right To Buy their rental property to increase chances of people owning their own home. The same right does not apply for local people in an area of less than 3000 people. I applied to Magna Housing Ascociation January 2016 and was turned down. Unfair postcode lottery for people who want to remain in their local village community

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
If you would like Parliament to change the law, to give people in rural communities the right to buy, you could start a new petition asking for that.
