Give 16 and 17 year olds the right to vote in the European Referendum 2016.
This age group are allowed to marry and work yet they have not had the opportunity to vote in the European referendum although the result will have an enormous impact on their lives.
Many complaints have been aired today on different forms of social network stating that this age group should of had the opportunity to have a say in this enormous and important decision that will impact on their lives. We wish to petition the government to give these adults the right to vote in the European Referendum 2016. Please set a date for this at the earliest opportunity and add the result of their votes to those that have already been made on the 23rd of June.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The EU referendum has already taken place. It is therefore no longer possible for the franchise (the groups of people who are entitled to vote) to be changed.
