Petition Action

Conduct a judicial review into the claims made by the Leave campaign.

Petition Details

The Leave campaign used certain information and data to justify their case to leave the EU. If it is found that the UK has made an important decision based on misleading information then the referendum should be conducted again using correct information.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Judicial review is a type of court proceeding in which a judge reviews the lawfulness of a decision or action made by a public body.

The Leave and Remain campaigns are not public bodies. It is therefore not clear how their actions could be subject to judicial review.
