Petition Action

Allow 16-18yr olds to add their vote to the recent referendum result

Petition Details

A petition for an additional referendum so that the young adults .... Who, let's not misunderstand ..... Already have the right to decide on so many issues that directly impact on them .... Have been totally excluded from what may turn out to be, one of the most important decisions of their future.

Additional Information

The government promotes the idea of young people being able to "Enjoy & achieve" and under the current climate perhaps most significantly to "positively contribute to society" & yet denies young adults the opportunity by disabling them, to contribute in a decision about the EU that directly impacts their future - for better or worse.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
