Working for Benefits (Able bodied, all ages)
Able bodied people receiving benefits (including job seekers) should carry out community work such as street cleaning, picking up litter, staffing volunteer shops, gardening, weeding, roaming security etc.
In view of the recent riots in London and the e-petition to withdraw benefits from those caught this may be a better solution but will encompass all able bodied people on benefits.
The work/staff can be managed by local Councils easily (with a bit of thought) and our communities will become cleaner and potentially safer.
It would also provide those on benefits a sense of pride.
