Fulfil Leave campaign's promise to spend £350 million per week on the NHS
Leave campaigners claimed EU membership cost the UK £350 million per week and that this money should be better spent in Britain. There was a promise that this money would be spent on the NHS ("Our EU contributions are enough to build a new, fully-staffed NHS hospital every week"*).
TV ads showed an imagined NHS hospital experience with Britain remaining in the EU versus a contrasting hospital experience with Britain outside the EU. This campaign was deliberately misleading to voters and there appears to be no intention of following through on this promise**. This government must now make good on this promise.
