Petition Action

Hold a General Election in Autumn 2016

Petition Details

The result of the EU referendum and the decision of David Cameron to resign as Prime Minister means we will have a new Prime Minister who was not a party leader at the time of 2015 General Election, implementing a programme that never put to the electorate. This is democratically unacceptable.

Additional Information

We call on the government to dissolve parliament before the Autumn Party conferences, and to hold a General Election. Additionally, David Cameron should remain as caretaker Prime Minister until this General Election.
