Hold a general election before invoking article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.
Given the gravity of the negotiations ahead, the effective vote of no confidence in the current government implicit in the the EU referendum result, and the resignation of the Prime minister, the British people deserve to choose a new government to lead the negotiations.
