Petition Action

Allow legal British permanent residents to vote in referendums after 5 years.

Petition Details

Not everyone living in Britain who meets the citizenship requirements wants to become a British citizen immediately. Permanent residents who have been living and working in the UK for the past 5 years should be afforded the right to vote in a referendum as it pertains to their future as well.

Additional Information

A full list of citizenship requirements can be found at https://www.gov.uk/becoming-a-british-citizen/check-if-you-can-apply
