Petition Action

Recall Parliament to discuss having a vote of no confidence in the government.

Petition Details

After the vote for Brexit where a high proportion of people did not vote, a vote of no confidence in the government would mean a general election is called. There then can be a legally binding vote on EU membership if 1 of the main parties standing for election does so under a pro EU policy.

Additional Information

Section 2 of the 2011 Parliaments act enables 2 possibilities to allow an early general election outside the 5 year fixed term. #1 is If the House of Commons resolves "That this house has no confidence in Her Majesty's Government" an early general election is called.
