The amendment of housing the benefit policy

Additional Information

As it stands you can earn £2000 + per month in benefits and still get your housing rent and tax paid which potentially can give you a monthly income of £3000 per month in benefits, yet if you are working full time earning £800 per month you’re not entitled to any housing benefit, so your rent and council tax has to come out of your £800 a month wages. Where’s the incentive to work?? I would like to see anyone who is on benefits or working and earning below £1000 per month have their rent and tax paid by housing benefit in full, anyone over this threshold will have to pay full rent and tax a fairer system helping all and giving low paid workers an incentive to work.
