Abolish free prescriptions in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Although I would prefer that English patients do not have to pay prescription charges we all know that this will not happen due to costs. This is nothing more than “medical apartheid”, where the devolved nations enjoy better health services despite paying far less tax per head.
English patients are currently paying £7.40p per item – while effectively subsidising free drugs for those elsewhere in the UK.
If English patients cannot get the same benefits, then we should end this medical inequity and all pay the same so that the health service benefits everyone equally in the UK.
