We do not need another referendum on EU membership
There is currently a petition calling for another vote on the basis that there should be a 78% turnout at the referendum. As the 72 % turnout was exceptionally high on Thursday 23 June, this is unjustified and calls into question all election results with a low number of voters.
Any analysis of election results will show a much lower turnout than the 23 June 2016. See "Devon, A study in autonomy" , Ph.D, thesis,July 2005, that cites a norm of a 48 % turnout.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
