Petition Action

Disallow petitions that call for repeat referendums. The result is the result.

Petition Details

The recent result of the referendum has given rise to a petition calling for a 2nd vote. Some of the supposedly intellectual part of society doesn't seem to recognise democracy and is calling for a second vote on the basis that leave voters were too stupid to know what they were voting for.

Additional Information

There is a currently open petition calling for a second referendum that has attracted over 1m signatures. This is a democratic society where every persons vote counted. There is a great deal of animosity from the remain camp towards people that voted leave and they seem unable to accept the majority point of view

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
