Parliament must immediately block the triggering of Art 50 of the Lisbon Treaty
Parliament must exercise its sovereign duty to protect the national interest in the light of the clear and imminent danger to the UK's security, integrity, economy, international standing and the livelihood of its citizens posed by the prospect of leaving the EU by blocking any recourse to art 50
Whereas:
- The referendum of 23 June 2016 was advisory and NOT legally binding
- Mounting evidence suggests that any attempt to implement the result of said referendum would represent a wilful act of national self-harm
- 2 of the 4 countries in the UK voted against leaving the EU and must not be forced to do so against their will
- There is compelling reason to believe that leaving the EU will constitute an act of unjustifiable harm to the global community and UK residents and citizens
