Work to enable British citizens to opt to retain individual EU Citizenship.
Although Britain has chosen to leave the EU, 16,141,241 people voted for the UK to remain. Many people across the UK personally identify as an EU Citizen and would wish to remain a member of the EU on an individual basis and retain the associated freedoms to move and reside freely within the EU.
No country has previously left the EU and as such no precedent exists. The UK Government should pursue the option for individuals to retain EU citizenship as part of the Article 50 negotiations.
