allow UK citizens abroad for more than 15 yrs to vote in a 2nd EU referendum
British expats living abroad for more than 15 years were barred from registering to vote in the last Referendum on EU membership.
As this concerns a change for the Uk withconstitutional implications, the requirement of a majority in excess of 50 per cent based on an undefined turnout was inadequate
A British citizen living in Italy for more than 15 years recently challenged in the courts for being debarred from registering.
Parliament should debate this in the context of a modern globalised work situation for many Britush citizen who lack voting rights In countries where they work or retire.
In matters concerning the constitutional status of their native country they are unfairly disenfranchised.
Inadequate time was allowed to debate/ vote on this in parliament prior to the 23rd June
