Petition Action

Make it a criminal offence to use statements of fact that be verified as untrue.

Petition Details

We, the people, demand that anybody involved in an official campaign in any election or referendum controlled by the electoral commission, who is found to have made statements of fact which can be validated as untrue, should be held accountable in a court of law.

Additional Information

We, the people, have seen many statements of fact that can be validated as untrue or knowingly misleading, being used within the EU referendum. With such a crucial decision to be made for the future of our country, our economy and our children's livelihoods we believe that to use such statements is not only morally wrong, but fraudulent, and would be unacceptable in any other work place.
