Petition Action

Change Mandatory Sentences To Deter Crime

Additional Information

There are far too many people hurting others and killing others and unless we change the sentencing then this will continue. We MUST do something to deter these crimes.
Youths killing each other, almost daily now, it must be stopped.
Until we put out a tougher deterrent and make it clear that the UK will not accept this behaviour or these crimes then the numbers will continue to rise - how many more innocent people must suffer?
To change the mandatory sentence for the following:
Convicted of Rape - life to mean life
Convicted of being a Paedophile - life to mean life
Murder - life to mean life
Caught with a knife or gun - minimum jail term of 25 years regardless if it was used or not
