Petition Action

Allow 16 and 17 year olds the right to vote.

Petition Details

Many teenagers across the UK feel that when it comes to elections and votes they do not get their needs and wants accurately represented. It is time for a change that would give teenagers the voice they need.

Additional Information

When someone turns 16 they can legally:
- Join the Army
- Get Married
- Leave Home
- Get a Full Time Job
- Pay Tax

16 and 17 year olds can legally do all of the above and more. Things such as joining the army or getting married are major life decisions which 16 year olds are allowed to make (with parental consent). Some 16 year olds even pay their fair share of tax yet they are still not granted the right to vote and have their say. This needs to change.
