Petition Action

We the undersigned call for a date to be set for a General Election.

Petition Details

David Cameron has announced his resignation, instigating changes affecting many people. We did not vote for this Mandate. These people, myself included, should have some say in the outcome of these changes and who and which party should take over rather than just having someone forced on us.

Additional Information

David Cameron's resignation. Who should take over.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

A date is set by statute for the next general election: 7 May 2020. If you want an election date before this, you could start a new petition calling for that. Alternatively, you might like to sign this petition, which calls for a general election in 2016:
