Dissolve Parliament and let voting public decide who leads Brexit negotiations
We the undersigned call on Members of Parliament (MPs) to utilise the provisions of the Fixed Term Parliaments Act so as to dissolve Parliament early and enable a General Election to decide who forms the Government which will negotiate the UK's exit from the European Union.
On 23rd June 2016 the British public voted for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union. Following this, on 24th June David Cameron announced that he would step down as Prime Minister and invited his Conservative Party to elect a new Leader to take over from him as Prime Minister by October and thereafter lead Brexit negotiations.
The decision of who leads these negotiations should not be left to Conservatives alone. We should all decide who forms the Government which negotiates Brexit.
