Petition Action

Order a judicial review of Vote Leave to find if it lied and deceived the public

Petition Details

The EU Referendum is a hugely important issue for the UK. If the Vote Leave campaign lied and misled the British Public then they got their votes under deception and the entire campaign is arguably illegal. An independent judicial review should be asked to rule on this

Additional Information

Vote Leave kept saying that the UK was contributing £350 million per week and I feel this was misleading to naive or less informed voters and would have erroneously influenced them, in effect getting their vote under false pretences and therefore is arguably fraudulent.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Judicial review is a type of court proceeding in which a judge reviews the lawfulness of a decision or action made by a public body.

The Leave and Remain campaigns are not public bodies. It is therefore not clear how their actions could be subject to judicial review.
