Petition Action

Allow 16 +17 year olds to vote in a new EU referendum

Petition Details

16 and 17 year olds should be allowed to vote in a re-run EU referendum as they were in the Scottish Referendum as this is only fair
They will have to bear the brunt of the consequences of such an important decision.
A great many people who voted were not aware our young adults did not have a say

Additional Information

In a new referendum, including 16 and 17 year olds, official campaign material across all media should carry a Government Advisory in the form of a traffic light system:
Red for Opinion
Amber for Unprovable
Green for Fact
Negative campaigning should be actively discouraged and the Government should have the power to penalise any misrepresentative, inaccurate or polarised campaigning
Citizens have a right to open and honest debate in the great British traditions of fair play and honesty
