Do what's best for the UK, ignore the result of the EU Referendum

Petition Details

We, the undersigned call upon HM government to ignore the result of the EU Referendum when deciding whether the UK should leave or remain in the EU, as due to the very nature of referendums, there is guarantee that voters on either side were making an informed decision on such an important issue.

Additional Information

*The referendum is not legally binding
* Remain won by a small margin of only 3.8%. Had 16-17 year olds and EU residents been allowed to vote, the result could have significantly different. This shows that the referendum was not a clear indication public opinion.
*'Leave' campaign's claims that there would be no rush to leave the EU, that there would not be "a sudden change that disrupts the economy", and that NHS would receive £350 million a week have all proved false.
