Discuss the motion for an early general election and a vote of confidence

Petition Details

We call on the House to consider this e-petition on discussing the motion for an early general election & a vote of confidence in the UK government.
Post Brexit with a nation divided, if a motion of no confidence is passed an early election can be held under The Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011.

Additional Information

The early general election would be expected to be held on Thursday 4th May 2017, which would see our leaders come forwards with their best effort at a thoughtful plan for the future, for the best possible outcome when we exit the EU in 2 years time.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

In any case, we already have several petitions open calling for a general election. For example: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/133548
