Stop Westminster Council allowing private for profit events in Berkeley Square.
Berkeley Square (North Side) is closed to the public for several weeks a year for private events The results are a loss of public use and destruction to the square, taking weeks to repair There is a current application for up to 65 more days of events. Keep this Oasis in Mayfair open to the Public
Every time there is an event half the square is shut a week before to set up and take down.
The grass is completely destroyed and unusable for several months.
The proposed application that is under review could close half the park to the public for up to 3 months of the year (summer) when it is most used by the public for live concerts to DJ music events which will be for profit.
The damage to the square which has the oldest trees in London could be irreversible.
The square is well used by all.
