Ensure provision of proper references for data in political campaign documents.
Both sides of the campaign for this referendum have been accused of manipulating data, and flat out lying.
Rules should be put in place to ensure data and statistics quoted in any campaign documents should be properly referenced and the sources be made readily available so that they can be checked.
Access to accurate information is important when making voting decisions.
Having to provide correct references may help make sure that the public have been provided with the correct information instead of heavily manipulated data (and lies).
When an academic paper is written, sources of information must be carefully referenced so that the validity of any claims and data can be checked. It should be no different for political campaign documents. (And a reference saying "Treasury" is not enough!)
