A member of parliament deliberately lying to be immediately removed from office
For example Boris Johnson and Michael Gove repeatedly claimed that the UK sends £350 million a week to Brussels even though this was shown not to be the case.
After the cash for questions scandal and the expenses scandal public confidence in MPs has been severely shaken. Our elected representatives hold the highest public office in the land and we should expect the highest standards of decency and honesty from them. Deliberately misleading the public for political or other gain is absolutely not to be tolerated
