Lower the minimum voting age for the UK to 16
75% of 18-24 year olds voted to Remain in the EU referendum held recently. This indicates the result was swung almost entirely by the older generations, who the decision affects much less significantly.
As pointed out by Jack Wallington of The Student Room, the same 16 and 17 year olds who aren't allowed a say in their future, are already by law allowed to work full-time as adults, consent to sex, and in the case of 17 year olds, drive. If this demographic can be given that much responsibility, why can they not be given the ability to democratically affect the future that affects them more than anyone else.
