Petition Details

Recent elections and referendums have seen factually inaccurate statements being used as convincing arguments for advancing a position. In medicine or engineering where lives can be at stake, individuals are sacked for misinformation. In politics, lives, integrity and the economy are at stake.

Additional Information

Examples of factually misleading information and commitments being made it inferred include:

EU referendum claims by 'Vote Leave' with respect to immigration on leaving EU, actual cost of UK contribution to EU, economic impact of leaving EU, actual relaxation in laws/restrictions on leaving, increased spending on NHS post EU exit
