Lower the voting age to 16
Post the EU referendum it became apparent that the 60+ generation had the highest percentage of Brexit votes. My daughter was frustrated with this - 'we are the ones that are being left with the legacy that they voted for and I don't think its fair. I am old enough to make a rational decision'
I felt I had to do something as my daughter was upset with the outcome of the referendum and angry. We as a family, believe in a united Europe and embrace free movement of the people. With the Scottish Independence referendum sixteen year olds were allowed to vote. Isn't it about time Britain's sixteen year olds are promoted to take an interest in politics as a whole and to be encouraged to vote?
