Re-run the EU Referendum - allow 16 & 17 year olds to vote. It's our future too!

Petition Details

We, the young people of Britain, call upon HM Government to run another referendum allowing 16 & 17 year olds to vote on whether or not we should 'Brexit'.

Additional Information

A young person (anyone-aged 16-17) is presumed to be capable of consenting to their own medical treatment (they are deemed to be gillick competent). As with adults, a young person has the right to refuse to consent to treatment. With this in mind, why are we not capable to vote in the matters concerning us and our future i.e. The EU Referendum?

The EU referendum has already taken place. It is therefore no longer possible for the franchise (the groups of people who are entitled to vote) to be changed.
