Give 16-18 Year Olds Their Own EU Referendum
It seems very unfair that our elderly population gets to vote at any age and irrespective of their mental health (Dementia, Alzheimer's etc) yet the 16 to 18 year olds, whose future this decision will shape, are deemed unfit to do so.
Lets give them their own referendum and update the results.
At 16, we can:
Get married
Consent to sexual activity
Work
Get a National Insurance number
Join a trade union
Join the Armed Forces with parental consent
Change name
Leave home
Buy premium bonds
Apply for a passport
Surely this implies we have the intelligence and maturity to vote.
