Interfaith Committee

Additional Information

Peer figures from the varying faiths in the UK should form a cooperative committee, through which they work on campaigns to promote religious tolerance, and release joint statements on current affairs, i.e. condeming of violence, racism, etc. The ultimate aim and tagline for this committee would be "British Religious Solidarity".

This should be promoted in a media campaign UK-wide so it is highly visible to all, in order to promote tolerance of one another as British Citizens. Ultimately, this would help to counteract the negative impact of prevalant tabloid attitudes and sensationalist reaction to topical issues, and the divisions and ramifications this creates in society.

The UK government should significantly invest in the UK-wide promotion of understanding between and about the differing faiths in the UK.
