Petition Action

Protect EU citizens legally resident in the UK prior to the Brexit referendum

Petition Details

Over 2 million citizens of the European Union were legally resident in the United Kingdom at the point of the Brexit referendum. We call upon the Parliament of the United Kingdom to unequivocally guarantee the right of these people to remain in the UK.

Additional Information

In the wake of the highly divisive referendum campaign citizens of EU nations who have taken up residence in the UK, in full compliance with the laws of the UK, are being subjected to bigotry, abuse and uncertainty about whether or not they will be permitted to remain in the country where they have chosen to build their lives.
Parliament should demonstrate leadership and goodwill by issuing a guarantee of their right to remain the in the UK because it is the right thing to so.
