Petition Action

National Sunday TV/Computer/Mobile Phone/Console Switch off

Additional Information

As a stress consultant, father of 3 young boys, & member of the human race i am deeply concerned at the rate at which the virtual world of computers/facebook/games consoles/mobile phones seem to be every day eroding on the 'real' world of actual face- face communications.
I would like the Government to look into the possible benefits of an Annual Sunday National Day off from the virtual world in order for us to switch on to each other
The first day i propose is Sunday 11th September 8am till 8pm 11th September
More people might actually do something together as a family

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Government doesn't actually have the powers to enact legislation to enforce this. If you are able to re-frame this to suggest some sort of legislative change that could be effected, that would be helpful, and perhaps then could be put up on the website.
