Benefits are for those who EARN them
Make work credits the basis of benefits.
the idea is simple make benefits proportionate to the length of your work history.
so if you have not worked in UK, you get nothing
For 1 year you would get minimum x months to help you find another job.
for 3 years you would get more; and for someone who has worked for 10 years plus they would be entitled to the maximum but also limited in time so they cannot live off the state.
I am sure DWP will be able to work out equitable details; but benefits should be for those who have earned them!
