David Cameron should remain as PM in order to oversee a second EU referendum.
I believe that there should be a second EU referendum, in order to give people a chance to think again: second thoughts are best. In that event, David Cameron is the right politician to oversee the process of a second vote. He should remain in post as PM at least until this has been completed.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The resignation of an individual Minister, including the Prime Minister, is not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole. It is a decision for the individual concerned. The UK Government or Parliament cannot stop a Minister resigning.
On your request for a second referendum, we already have a petition open about this: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/133753
