Petition Action

Inquire into whether 'Brexit' was obtained by fraud or lies making it a nullity.

Petition Details

Johnson, Gove and others, to persuade the people to vote 'Leave', made statements; e.g. "We send the EU £350 million a week". If untrue a false statement, made dishonestly, knowing it is or might be untrue or misleading, with intent to make a gain for himself or to cause loss to another is a fraud.

Additional Information

The statement "We send the EU £350 million a week" appears untrue but was repeated persistently on the streets, on the TV and in the newspapers. It (and other seemingly false statements eg Re Turkey) were relied on by the electorate.

If untrue there may be conduct contrary to S.2 of the Fraud Act 2006.
The electorate has made a momentous decision of the greatest importance in the public interest.

If that decision was, or may have been, procured by fraud or merely lies it must be a nullity.
