We the citizens of the UK ask for a 2nd EU referendum including 16-17 year olds.

Petition Details

As the EU referendum will have a decisive and fundamental effect on the future all young people in the UK, we feel that this age group who have the most to lose or gain should have been represented officially. It is asked that the referendum is recast including this age group.

Additional Information

This is in reference to the opportunity given to Scottish voters on there vote for independence. This age group in society will be most effected by the change and should have a official voice.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The EU referendum has already taken place. It is therefore no longer possible for the franchise (the groups of people who are entitled to vote) to be changed.
