Allow all ex-pats to register to vote in referendums
I am a UK citizen living and working in the EU and plan to return to the UK in a few years. The outcome of the referendum on leaving the EU will have a massive impact on me and my family but I was not allowed to vote because I have not be a UK resident for over 15 years.
Vote registration for issues that are not local, should be allowed for all UK citizens regardless of their current place of residence.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government has already given a commitment to carry out this change, as indicated in the response to this petition:
petition.parliament.uk/petitions/112142
It is not clear what action you would like the Government to take that is different from what it is already doing.
