Ramifications for politicians that misuse statistics.
The EU referendum has made it clearer than ever that politicians misrepresent information to exploit the public. This is grossly unethical as voters have an absolute right to good quality information before they make their choice.
Currently, there are no ramifications for politicians that lie to us, this needs to change; we need consequences for politicians that lie. We need to make a step towards good quality information and facts to base our decisions on when voting in referendums and elections. A better informed public may lead to better voting turns outs and a greater trust in politicians, possibly a far greater interest in the political process and, more importantly, better choices for our country.
