Create a political advertising regulator to stop campaigns using misleading info
During the referendum both sides mislead the public, but without a regulator nothing can be done. Leaving the public with a distrust of the whole system.
It is time to fix this obvious flaw in our political system.
How can we make informed decisions if we are misinformed?
The Advertising Standards Agency chose to exclude political advertising from their remit in 1997. However, (19 years later) a new code/regulator has not yet been established for political adverting. https://www.asa.org.uk/News-resources/Media-Centre/2014/Political-advertising.aspx#.V269RRH6vIV
