Hold a public enquiry into whether or not the EU campaigns were misleading.
The EU referendum has demonstrated how politicians can say whatever they want with no accountability. It is irresponsible and misleading to make statements that the public is likely to interpret as facts or promises without evidence. We have a right to make decisions based on truthful information.
If the campaigns are found to be irresponsible and misleading, an independent body (along the lines of the Advertising Standards Authority which monitors commercial advertising but has no control over political advertising and campaigning) should be established to ensure standards, and a means by which the public can hold political groups accountable for what they say in their campaigns.
