Give London a greater autonomy to let it to join the EU as a city-state.
London depends on its connections with the European Union more than it depends on the rest of Britain. London deserves to be given a greater autonomy. Freed from the internal UK politics it could truly become the financial capitol of the EU. I believe it's not a question of 'if', but 'how much'...
autonomy is in the best interest of London, the UK, and the whole EU. Global cities and sovereign states are popular names describing the means of governing influential regions. We can draw from the experiences of modern city-states like Singapore, Monaco, Vatican City, Malta, Hong Kong, and Dubai among others. This is not about concentrating power. This is about developing a higher degree of autonomy and flexibility in the making of the law concerning the region and its strategic relationships.
