Government to reject the outcome of EU referendum because of Brexit falsehoods
The campaigns which surrounded the referendum were both flawed in highly significant ways, but the Brexit campaign were particularly bad. Specifically, they promised voters that billions more pounds would be spent on the health service, which they retracted after the vote.
The vote was very close, 52% to 48% and it is statistically likely that this small margin could have been influenced by the misinformation cited above.
