Implement RSPCA approved standards to all UK livestock farms
We must keep adhering to the 5 Freedoms. EU standards require animals to be inspected once a day, sow stalls are still used for the first 4 weeks of pregnancy, meat chickens have avg. 7cm of space (33kg per m² avg. weight 2.4kg), 550cm² for egg laying hens, calves are only put into groups at 8 weeks
RSPCA welfare standards should be implemented as the standard practice: http://science.rspca.org.uk/sciencegroup/farmanimals/standards
EU law:
http://www.ciwf.org.uk/media/3818623/eu-law-on-the-welfare-of-farm-animals.pdf
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/animal-welfare#on-farm-animal-welfare
If we can't improve our standards to RSPCA level, it is paramount these animals do not have to endure any more suffering than they already do under EU law. Ideal: CCTV in livestock farms for RSPCA to access
