Hold a new EU Referendum weighted to take account of voter age
We the undersigned call upon HM Government to hold a new EU Referendum where voter age is taken into account. Younger voters will live the longest with the consequences of the referendum so they should have greatest influence on the result.
Voter weighting should be banded by age, an example being: 16 to 29 have 4 votes; 30 to 49 have 3 votes; 50 to 69 have 2 votes; 70+ have 1 vote.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
It's not clear how this could be done. Voting in the UK is anonymous. It is not therefore possible to work out which votes would be accorded greater weight.
